Presenter Bio:

Jesse Jakins is a gymnastics, movement and coaching professional. Specializing in artistic gymnastics, she holds a Masters in High Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership, and has recently completed the Advanced Coach Diploma. Jesse was Gymnastics British Columbia’s ProMotion Plus Emerging Gymnastics Leader of the Year in 2013. Her passion for gymnastics and positivity have been a part of Gymnastics BC since she was an athlete. Jesse has coached at the provincial and national level. In the past, her athletes have been on Team BC and contributed to many team and individual medals. Additionally, she has pursued the judging program and is a National High Performance (HP) Judge. Currently, Jesse is the women’s competitive team leader at Kelowna and West Kelowna Gymnastix. This is where she contributes to the largest and most fun competitive gymnastics team in the Okanagan. Over the years, Jesse has had an opportunity to work with many sports and leaders, and this enhanced her ability to comprehend long term athlete development. It is her goal to share information with the coaching community, help develop new ideas and inspire others. Beyond gymnastics, Jesse’s coaching style has been influenced by yoga, and she has worked with skiing, snowboarding, track and field, trampoline and acrobatic gymnastics. Outside of the gym, Jesse loves to be in the sun, breathing fresh air, and chasing big mountains covered in snow. Life has taught Jesse to always live for the moment and make the moments count.
